Kickstarting Youth Fitness at The Rec™

Therefore, we at The Rec™ are committed to promoting youth fitness by incorporating fun and engaging fitness activities into our programs.

Classes for Different Age Groups

The Rec™ has a vast array of fitness classes for different age groups. These classes offer kids the chance to try out various sorts of exercises, hence making fitness fun and less of a chore.

  • 3-5 years: At this stage, children are introduced to physical activities that build foundational motor skills. The classes are fun, interactive, and incorporate games that develop coordination, strength, balance, and flexibility.
  • 6-9 years: In these sessions, kids engage in more structured and challenging activities. They participate in diverse sports, games, and exercises that increase their stamina, agility, and speed.
  • 10-12 years: Children within this age bracket mostly engage in cardiovascular activities like cycling, dancing, and sports. They also participate in strength training exercises and flexibility classes such as yoga.

The Rec™ facilitates youth fitness through its accessibility and flexibility. Our facility is open daily and located conveniently at 303 Main St., Little Elm, Texas. Having a variety of membership options makes access easy for everyone.

Activities Promoting Youth Fitness at The Rec™

At The Rec™, we offer a myriad of activities all aimed at promoting youth fitness. These activities not only help to improve physical health but also boost cognitive abilities, self-esteem, and emotional well-being among children.

Water Activities

Water activities form an integral part of our youth fitness program. Our facility, The Cove at the Lakefront™, offers water aerobics and water walking classes. These activities are designed to improve a child’s cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength, all while having a low impact on joints.

GroupX Exercise Classes

Another fundamental part of our youth fitness program is GroupX exercise classes. From yoga to Zumba, Pilates, and beyond, these classes offer a fun and interactive approach to fitness, giving kids an opportunity to socialize while staying fit.

Sports Leagues

At The Rec™, we also offer sports leagues administered by the Red River Social Sports. These leagues provide an opportunity for children to compete in various games throughout the year, helping them develop their team building and leadership skills, all while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
