Kid Zone

The Rec at The Lakefront™ offers Kid Zone childcare for your kids while you enjoy the facility! Kid Zone features board games, TV, coloring books, toys, etc. for kids ages six months to eight years of age.

Hours of Operation:

Monday: 8:30-11:30 a.m. & 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:30-11:30 a.m. & 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:30-11:30 a.m. & 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Thursday: 8:30-11:30 a.m. & 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

10-11 a.m. – Craft Time
11-11:30 a.m. – Game Time

Evening Activities
4:30-5:30 p.m. – Free Play

Policies and Procedures

  • Purchase a family plan with the child on it, which counts as one of the six members of the household.
  • Purchase a youth membership for the child.
  • Pay $2/child/day or purchase a $20 punch card.
  • Must be a member of the Little Elm Recreation Center or have purchased a day pass.
  • Open to ages 6 months – eight years of age. No one under the age of 6 months will be allowed in Kid Zone without a parent.
  • Children under the age of 8 are not to leave the Kid Zone until parent picks them up.
  • No food or drinks are provided to children, please make sure they are fed before.
  • Personal belongings must be left with a parent or placed in a locker.
  • Parents must remain in the building at all times.
  • The following behaviors are unacceptable and may result in the immediate removal of a child for the remainder of the current day and/or further time period: endangering or threatening to endanger the health and safety of others, staff, self, or volunteers; stealing or damaging property; or using profanity, vulgarity, or obscenities.
  • No horseplay.

Your child will not be permitted to enter KidZone if they exhibit the following:

  • Fever
  • Off-color nasal discharge (sign of infection)
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Any contagious condition, such as pink eye, lice, ringworm, and chickenpox
  • Cuts and wounds must be properly covered.
  • If your child has allergies or is asthmatic, please note their condition in KidCheck.

Staff has the right to refuse a child into the facility if they feel the child is exhibiting signs and symptoms of illness.

  • The Kid Zone is for ages six months to eight years old ONLY.
  • Children may stay in the Kid Zone for a maximum of two hours per day.
  • All children utilizing the Kid Zone must be a member or have purchased a day pass ($2 per visit or $20 punch card).
  • All children using the Kid Zone must be checked in using KidCheck software. Only authorized individuals will be allowed to check children in and out of the Kid Zone.
  • Due to potential food allergies, NO FOOD is permitted in the Kid Zone. Bottles or spill-proof cups are permitted.
  • If a child presents with any of the symptoms listed in the Sick Child Policy within the past 24 hours, they are not permitted to use the Kid Zone.
  • Parents must remain inside the building at all times (unless attending an organized class in the parking lot) and note location at the time of drop off.
  • It is highly recommended that children leave toys and electronics at home. The Recreation Center is not responsible for broken, lost, or stolen personal items.
  • Staff will not change diapers or assist with bathroom visits or accidents. Parents will be notified by staff when a child has an accident or needs a diaper change.
  • The occupancy of the Kid Zone is 21 children. When capacity is met, no children may be dropped off until below the maximum occupancy number. Additional staff may affect the occupancy number.
  • Children that are able to walk must wear shoes at all times.
  • Check in or purchase a Day Pass at the Front Desk.
  • Get Kid Zone Pass.
  • Present Kid Zone Pass to Room Attendant.
  • Parents must sign child in and out of Kid Zone.
